Pink is Aamir’s new obsession!

After having liked the tamil version of the movie, I finally decided to watch the hindi remake of Ghajini. As it turns out, it was a total waste of $11…well watching Asin probably was worth 75 cents. So, it was actually a total waste of $10.25.

Firstly, the movie is all about Aamir’s abs. He worked hard on getting his chiselled look, he’s dedicated to his craft, blah blah….I get it. You don’t have to drill the point in. About half way into the movie I’ve had enough of his buttonless shirts, shirt sleeves that have no practical value but showacse his biceps and the generously sprinkled oh so useless closeups of his abs. For god’s sake Asin has more clothing on her than Aamir Khan!

Which brings us to the obsession part…the guy is obsessed with the color pink and it’s shades.  Some people say pink is the new black. But even they have to admit there’s pink and then there’s “Oh my god I’m going blind” pink . I admit, bright colors on screen are necessary to add visual direction to the frame, make the characters pop etc. But this felt like the director got a great deal on pink cloth and so decided to stitch a 100 shirts for the actor with the same.

And if not pink then we can definitely use…ummmm say violet since they’re first cousins. Also by some miracle, if Aamir isn’t in pink , then someone around him definitely is. I think at some point I even spotted one of the villian’s one so many useless goons sporting a pink shirt.

By now if the visual assault of pink in this post hasn’t burnt out some cones in your retina…then you are definitely color blind. But I just wanted you to feel the same pain my eyes (and my wallet) felt when I wasted 3 hours and $10.25 of my life last night!

Ghajini has proved to be a great movie… and rightly so. Aamir Khan rules… he is an actor of the classes. SRK really needs to learn a thing and more from aamir about acting. Apart from Chak De… all his movies find him enacting the same way… infact he gets on the nerves nowadays.

Ghajini is a beautifully picturised blend of raw action and sweet romance. The songs are picturized beautifully.. behka, guzarish as well as kaise mujhe. Infact, you would take home ‘Kaise mujhe’ with you emotionally by the time the movie ends. Quite emotionally attaching.

Another too good performance by Aamir Khan. He looks so very young and handsome/smart. he is just too good. The background score was superb. The screenplay was done with masterly skills. Aamir is the # 1 all over.

I agree with you on the SRK vs. Aamir debate completely. But I felt Ghajini was a bad choice by Aamir. I guess you liked the movie…to each his own I say!

    4) the whole movie had “south indian” feel…..action scenes reminded me of Rajnikanth movies…..
    5) and whats with that 2.5+ hours long love story….why ppl call Gajhini an action movie anyways???
    6) and this crap made 20 + crores in india???? god!!!
    7) what I am scred about is Aamir will become new Amitabh…..just a superstar who makes crap that sells….the way ppl follow every BS Amitabh does….
    8) still….his body was worth looking at for 3+ hours!!!!! reminded me of Jason Statham…..very sexy!! :) :)

“… and its Pink when I turn off the lights!” – Aerosmith
you see, Steven Tyler jumped onto the Pink Bandwagon much before Aamir was born!

@Sukanti – Pink is the new black…saw that in a ad someplace. His body was overkill…too much exposure. Looked like the movie was made around hi abs….yuck!

@Sudhamshu – Yes I know…where did you think I got this post title from??
